Steve Bannon now predicts Republicans will lose the Senate in Nov

On his War Room show, Steve Bannon predicted, “We’re going to lose the Senate in the fall,” unless they abandon what he calls an “old‑school” strategy of dumping money into TV ads while neglecting real grassroots organizing.

He warns that there’s “no enthusiasm” for door‑to‑door canvassing or voter contact and blasts GOP Senate leadership for failing to energize the MAGA base, arguing that without a confrontational “showdown” with party leaders, the midterms will slip away.

Bannon, of course, entered the Trump administration on Inauguration Day 2017 as “Chief White House Strategist and Senior Counselor to the President,” then a newly created top-tier role that made him one of Trump’s most influential advisers during the first months of the term. But after months of internal power struggles with other senior aides, Bannon left the White House in August of that year and returned to Breitbart News.

Bannon’s prediction sits on top of broader electoral trends that nonpartisan forecasters are flagging: Republicans are defending more seats, Democrats have strong pickup opportunities in places like Maine, North Carolina, and Alaska, and national moods in midterms usually favor the party out of the White House.

Public models don’t yet predict a guaranteed GOP loss, but they do show a tight map where small shifts in turnout among independents and soft partisans could flip control—exactly the trend Bannon is trying to highlight.

On a human level, what he’s really saying to Republican activists is: Don’t assume Trump’s brand alone can carry the Senate. His dire prediction doubles as a motivational speech and a warning. If the party continues to sleepwalk through these trends in fundraising, ground game, and candidate quality, the story they’ll tell after November is that they were warned by one of their own and still ignored the signs.
